Temple Cleaning –

  • We hope to have a minimum of 20 volunteers each of the evenings, but we would gladly take more if there is a desire.
  • Volunteers must be endowed members who hold an active recommend.
  • Volunteers should arrive at 9:30 pm and plan on serving until 11:30 pm.Someone from our custodial staff will be at the recommend desk to greet them at 9:30 pm and give further instructions.
  • There will be a prayer meeting in the chapel at 9:45 pm.
  • Volunteers should arrive in Sunday dress and change into temple-provided white clothing. They may bring their own white clothing if desired.
  • Volunteers should be physically capable of performing the required cleaning tasks.

Flower and Plant work –

  • We have clippers, weeding tools, and buckets available for volunteer use. We have gloves volunteers can use but they can bring their own gloves if they would prefer that. Also, it would be helpful for volunteers to bring knee pads or a kneeler pad if they would like something to kneel on.
  • We will meet with the group for orientation and a spiritual thought at the Utility Building located in the Southwest of the temple parking lot at 9:00 am.
    • If it is a youth group, please ensure that there are enough leaders to manage the group.
  • We recommend that volunteers bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
  • Temple recommends are not required for this service opportunity.
  • Come dressed to work outside.

Flower Planting –

  • We have trowels for volunteers to use, however if it is a group larger than 25 people it would be helpful to have them bring a few extra trowels for planting.
  • We will meet with the group for orientation and a spiritual thought at the Utility Building located in the Southwest of the temple parking lot at the designated time.
    • If it is a youth group, please ensure that there are enough leaders to manage the group.
  • We recommend that volunteers bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
  • Temple recommends are not required for this service opportunity.
  • Come dressed to work outside.

Fence Cleaning –

  • We have buckets and rags for groups to use so they will not need to bring any materials with them.
  • We will meet with the group for orientation and a spiritual thought at the Utility Building located in the Southwest of the temple parking lot at the designated time.
    • If it is a youth group, please ensure that there are enough leaders to manage the group.
  • Temple recommends are not required for this service opportunity.
  • Come dressed to work outside.

Snow Removal –

  • If there is no new snow, it is not necessary for volunteers to come to the temple.
  • If you are unsure if there has been new snow at the temple, you are welcome to call or text our Grounds Supervisor, Matthew Wright, at any time before the assignment. He can be reached at 801-750-7906.
  • We have about a dozen snow shovels for volunteers to use. If more than 12 people sign up then we would need a couple of people to bring a shovel. We ask that if individuals bring their own shovels that they are not metal or metal blade shovels.
  • If it has snowed during the night, we ask stake volunteers assigned to the morning to arrive around 6 am so that we can get sidewalks cleared for patrons. The temple has machines which will clear parking lots but all sidewalks and approaches must be cleared by hand.
  • A recommend is not required for this service opportunity. All volunteers are welcome so long as they can perform the work safely.
  • When we do have snow, we will meet at the utility building at the southwest corner of the temple parking lot for orientation and a prayer.
  • Please have volunteers dress appropriately for the weather.
